Ângela Saldanha has undergone Postdoctoral degrees in Digital Media Art, Open University, Lisbon: - “Travelling” - “Between Travels”. PhD in Arts Education, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto, with “On the way home” thesis, approved unanimously, with Distinction and Honors. Master in Visual Arts with the dissertation “My Mirror, Your Mirror. And Degree in Design, University of Aveiro. PhD student in Contemporary Art, at the College of Arts, University of Coimbra. Researcher at the Center for Research in Arts and Communication, at the Open University center, and at the Institute of Research in Arts, Design and Society, FBAUP. She has several academic backgrounds in the area of multimedia, ceramics and contemporary artistic production. As an artist she exhibits her works constantly, nationally and internationally, where she usually works in works of an artivist nature, of community involvement and of critical reflection on society. She integrates the collective “C3” (group of action and investigation in artistic practices interdisciplinary in Arts Education) and the collective “1686” (artistic thoughts and actions). She works as a volunteer in several primary and secondary schools in the country (with students from 1st cycle and secondary education, with special educational needs) in the development of artistic pedagogical tools for a diversified, contextualized and sustainable education. She is vice-president of the Association of Teachers of Expression and Visual Communication (APECV) and elected member of the European Council of the International Society for Education through Art (InSEA). She actively participates in national and international projects and events on Contemporary Art and Education, being a jury member of several contests of Artistic Expression and Election of the Creative Professor. Author of several publications in reference editions and element of the editorial team and Scientific Committee in magazines and national and international events.
